Terms of Service
The rules of the road for using this site. Last updated May 27, 2026.
By accessing whatsthecharge.com or bestevchargingcalc.com (the "Site"), you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Site.
What this site is
What's The Charge provides an EV charging calculator and a set of articles explaining how EV charging works in the real world. The calculator gives estimates based on the inputs you provide and publicly available vehicle and charger specifications.
No warranty on estimates
The calculator's output is an estimate. Real-world charging speed depends on many variables we don't control — battery temperature, state of charge, charger derating, vehicle firmware, environmental conditions, and more. We do our best to keep the math accurate and the vehicle data current, but we make no guarantee that any specific result will match what you see in your own car.
Don't make purchasing, charging, or trip-planning decisions based solely on this Site. Always check your vehicle's documentation and the charger operator's information.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Scrape, mirror, or republish the calculator or article content without written permission.
- Attempt to interfere with the Site's normal operation, including overloading endpoints or probing for vulnerabilities.
- Use the Site for any purpose that violates applicable law.
